Mario Deferrari
Mario’s passion for art began at a young age. As a child he was surrounded by the love of his family and friends that understood his inclination and abilities for the arts.
He enrolled in the “Escuela de Artes Aplicadas” and attended the “Escuela de Bellas Artes” of Montevideo where he set his foundation as an artist and a designer.
Mario Deferrari grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay and now lives in Sugar Land, Texas with his wife Grace.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My primary goal when creating my abstracts is to give life to my feeling and ideas. I like to create living emotions to my paintings and explore the world and other forms of art for inspiration.
I was most influenced by the work of great artists like Pablo Picasso, Juan Miró and Franz Kline. Choosing to paint with oil allows me to blend colors leading to some areas being glossy, others staying matte and playing with the light reflected off the texture of the paint.
